Sleep Schedule all screwed up/problems?

No matter how hard I try I can't seem to stay awake during the day. Even if I get a good 8 hours of sleep at night I still feel horribly tired during the day and usually fall asleep for a few hours. And even if I'm up for 24 hours on 1 or 2 hours of sleep I can stay awake energetic all night. Even though I often am horribly tired during the day once the night comes I tend to feel more awake and energetic despite being just as sleep deprived. I really don't know what to do anymore...
