What exactly is an energy grid?

The National Electricity Grid is an example of an interconnected set of power stations & other power generating facilities. The smaller & more numerous these become the more difficult it becomes to manage their contributions while maintaining adequacy of supply. The alternative energy future depicted by the UN in it's recent report will prove s total nightmare in terms of connecting ip all these dispersed sourced I'd power. We will reflly have up get used to lOts of power cuts & brown outs in the future.
